Evaluation:

Our  parents say that it was better when they were in school. They knew their classmates longer and they had programmes to help the weaker students. And they had to care about younger students and help them to start at a new school.

We think it was better too. We don't have programmes to help younger students to get a good start. Today we don't really have to care about the younger ones. And we don't have programmes to help weaker students. I agree with my parents. At that time it was better in school. :)

Here is some information about our school in the beautiful Erzgebirge.The Matthes Enderlein grammar school is situated in Zwönitz.

The school consists of the two buildings, the new and the old one (the old was first =D).

We have a cafeteria, an assembly hall, a school yard, gyms (two of them) and two car parks (one only for teachers), we have also a stadium and lots of rooms too.

 Parents:
Our parents had one school from class 1 to10.They also had a cafeteria, school yard and a gym.The rooms were bigger and higher than our rooms. There was a little pool. Our parents had to go to school on Saturday (terrible)


Grandparents:
Our grandparents had school from class 1to 8.They didn`t have as much equipment as today.They had to wear school uniforms. They had to go to school on Saturday too.

Most subjects are boring, but some of them are realy interesting.


Parents.:
 The first foreign language they learned was Russian and later English. A different school subject is that they had cooking and hand craft in the first years and later they had to work in a factory.

associations

We have a day school, thats why we have so many associations.
For example: choir, comenius project :), handball and theater in english,german and french.

We have 60 teachers on our school. Some of them are very cool, but the most aren`t cool.

Parents: the same

Grandparents: very strict teachers. When they were bad the teachers hit them with a pointer.

technical equipment

In our school we have lots of computers.
Some of them are in one of our three computer rooms or in our corner with Computers.
We also got three lecture halls.

Parents: They had a chemic and a physik laboratory  a library and some old computers.

Grandparents: no technical equipment(hihi=))

holidays

We got 2 weeks autumn holidays, 1 week Christmas holidays, 1 week winter holidays and one week Easter holidays. We also got free days all over the year and at Pentecost. And last but not least, 6 WEEKS SUMMER HOLIDAYS!!!



Parents: They had 8 weeks summer holidays

 and spring holidays

Grandparents: They had 8 weeks summer hlidays and potatos holidays =)

In the mornings we get to school by bus, bike,train or foot.
The bus station is directly in front of the school.

Parents: The school was not so far away they can walk and later they drove with a moped

Graduations

Our school goes from class 5 to 12.
If you passed class 10, you automatically have the secondary school graduation.
And in class 12, you can make your abitur.

Parents: They go out of school after class 10.Than they can make abitur.

Grandparents: They go out of school after class 8 . Than they must work.
